Before You Bring Your Kitten/Cat Home
Before you bring a new kitten/cat into the house. You need to prepare a room for a kitten/cat. You are required to isolate your kitten/cat from other animals in a small room for 2 weeks. It is very important that your kitten/cat is given some time to settle into his/her new home before introducing it to other household animals. After your kitten/cat has become comfortable around you and your family, we recommend slowly introducing him/her to the household animals and other rooms. This time frame varies for each kitten/cat.
By the time the kitten/cat leaves our cattery, he/she will be already litterbox trained but be aware there will be a transition period in which the kitten/cat must become used to your home environment. As soon as you bring a kitten/cat into your house, put him/her in the litter box every 2 hours until he/she uses it.
We feed our kittens/cats with dry food daily and wet food every evening. We use Purina One. Please stay with the same brand for the wet and dry food we used. Purina offers a variety of kitten/cat food brands to meet your kitten/cat’s unique needs & preferences. If you will use one brand for dry food and another brand for wet food, you may expect loose stools. Diarrhea is not good for kitten’s/cats’ health.
If you do choose to feed your kitten/cat with different food, do expect a short period of loose stools while the kitten/cat’s digestive tract becomes familiar with the new food. We also feed our kittens/cats with Raw Diet. If you decided to feed your kitten/cat with Raw Diet Only, please let us know so we can transfer your kitten/cat to a raw diet.

Some kittens/cats are allergic to plastic, so opt for a different material like easy-to-clean stainless steel or glass. We use glass bowls at out cattery. You'll want to wash her food and water bowls daily to keep things fresh. Plenty of clean, fresh water on hand is key for a kitten/cat too. Automatic feeder is optional.

Treats
Kitten/Cat treats are a great way to reward your kitten/cat during training and can serve as a way to strengthen the bond between you and your kitten/cat. However, remember to view kitten/cat treats as a complement to your furry friend’s meals, not as a replacement. Giving your kitten/cat too many treats can interfere with her appetite, making her a picky eater when it comes to eating regular meals. Additionally, too many treats can cause your kitten/cat to become overweight or obese, which could lead to further health problems down the road.
Bed
Most kittens/cats like to have their own place to rest, but don’t be disappointed if she/he chooses to ignore her/his new bed. Kittens/Cats are very particular, so make sure the bedding is always clean. Place the bed in a quiet, draft-free corner away from the main traffic in your house. This will be your kitten’s/cat’s corner.
Scratching post
Kittens/Cats need to scratch to keep their claws sharp, exercise and stretch their muscles and mark their territory. If you fail to provide an acceptable area to scratch then your carpets, furniture and wallpaper may get damaged. Once a kitten/cat finds an attractive area to scratch, they will always return to it!
Collar, Harness, & Leash
A kitten/cat harness or leash can be a great training tool for your kitten/cat, though they're not a must. If you're already thinking along these lines, a harness is probably best, as kittens often dislike the feeling of a leash. However, make sure your kitten/cat always wears a collar made of lightweight material and an identification tag. Have her/him wear one early on, to get her used to the sensation.
Grooming tools
Grooming helps keep your kitten/cat healthy and beautiful.
Grooming is an important part of looking after kittens, but thanks to their softer, fluffier and shorter coats, it should take next to no time to do, compared to adults. If you can get your kitten used to regular grooming from a young age, it will make life much easier for both of you in the future. The good news is that most cats and kittens love the gentle attention of being groomed, and as soon as they see a brush or comb in your hand, they’ll usually come running for the fuss.
Cats with long, silky, or curly coats require daily brushing to keep their hair from becoming tangled or matted, especially around the ears, in the armpits, or along the back of the legs. Cats with short hair coats may require less frequent brushing. Nail cutting about every 2-3 week. Clean the ears only as needed, such as once every 2-3 months.

Toys
A kittens/cats are naturally curious and needs toys that are safe and fun to play with. Choose toys made especially for cats—ones that cannot be splintered, torn apart or swallowed. A celluloid ball that rattles, a catnip mouse or a hard rubber mouse is perfect. To avoid accidents, some cat toys should be used only when you are playing with your kitten.
Also avoid anything with hard sharp points that can break off. Be wary of toys (or items that a kitten may see as a toy) that can break, such as Christmas tree ornaments for example. Be careful not to give her anything small enough to swallow, like buttons, beads or paper clips. Keep your kitten/cat away from children’s toys made of soft rubber, fur, wool, sponge or polyurethane. If your kitten/cat swallows even a small particle, it could cause digestive problems. Avoid all toys with squeakers that could be swallowed.
We will also provide you with small bag of toys to play!
Tall Cat Tree
Kittens/Cats love to be up high where they have a great view of everything going on in the home. Most cat trees have high perches where your kitten/cat can curl up, feel safe and get away from that horrible dog! 😉 Having the structure near a window also gives them a great nature channel to watch while home alone.
Cat Carrier Bag
Whether traveling by car or plane, you're going to need a cat carrier. The best cat carriers will keep your pet safe and make it easy to load and unload your precious cargo. Even cats who only leave the house to go to the vet still need a secure way to get there.
